Rio Grande - White Water Rafting

The river was running high and kayaks were prohibited in the Class 3/4 rapids...so we went rafting.  Lydia and I are in the raft in the photo on the right.  Conditions were rough and we had the awesome experience of 'rescuing' two swimmers and an overturned boat.  Loved it!

High Water!

The corn might not yet be as high 'as an elephant's eye' but the water IS extraordinarly high at Lake Red Rock.  We were able to touch the bridge this evening. :)    Pretty night.

Le Juste

The right fit.  The right boat.  Even the color is right. 

My boat's been in rehab for the past year.  I've been making do with a variety of lovely kayaks...but this one just 'fits'.  The 'Nemo' is fun, the 'Force 4' more powerful,  the 'Nighthawk' more stable, and the 'RPM' more maneuverable.  But my Blue Impex is the most responsive to me  - poetry in motion.  It's so nice to have it back again.
