I was at a photo workshop last year during the GAAR race and missed the event, but I was given photos to use for this year's poster, and here it is! I'll be there this year; I hope we'll have a record number of participants.

Practice
My attempt to stand up in a 20 inch wide kayak ended as anticipated, providing multiple opportunities to practice my re-entry skills. It was good and necessary to practice; I think my shoulder is headed for full recovery. :)

John and Doc perfect the 'Unconscious Kayaker' Rescue. This was originally reviewed in Sea Kayaker Magazine as a bow rescue, but John and Doc managed to figure it out from both the bow and stern angles.

The Art of Story-Telling
Even with the fireworks in the background, celebrating John P's up-coming birthday with a brilliant sun-set and mystic full-moon wouldn't have been complete without the traditional campfire. John's artful story-telling had the gathered paddlers at the edge of their 'seats' until late into the night.
